The trees and bushes, green fields and flower beds at the paths and around the buildings at the campus – all of them form the appearance of our campus. They where planted in the 1970es. We were able to find the first gardener of the university.
Sie sind ein Teil unseres Campus. Die Bäume und Sträucher, Wiesen und Blumenbeete rund an den Wegen und Uni-Gebäuden. In den 1970er Jahren wurden sie angelegt. Wir haben uns auf Spurensuche gemacht, nach dem Campus-Gärtner der ersten Stunde.

Reportage St. Jakobuskirche
Located in the Markstraße is the St. Jakobus church of Ilmenau. It’s one of the main churches of the city. It’s a historically and architectonic important building and houses the largest organ of thuringia. For that reason the church is open for tourists, thanks to a few volunteers.
In der Marktstraße liegt die Ilmenauer St. Jakobuskirche. Die Kirche spielt für die Stadt eine wichtige Rolle. Sie ist geschichtlich und architektonisch bedeutend außerdem beherbergt sie die größte Orgel Thüringens. Grund genug die Kirche auch Touristen zugänglich zu machen. Dank einiger ehrenamtlicher Mitarbeiter ist dies auch möglich.

The city of Ilmenau is affected by the Kickelhahn, Goethe, the thuringian forest and maybe the cities mascots – the goats. But there are also people with a huge impact on Ilmenau as it is. One of this persons is Bernd Frankenberger. Lennart met him and asked him about his “Tannenlädchen”.
Ilmenau ist geprägt durch den Kickelhahn, Goethe, den Thüringer Wald oder vielleicht noch den Ziegenbock. Aber nicht nur diese offensichtlichen Dinge beeinflussen die Stadt. Es gibt auch einige Menschen, die dafür sorgen, dass Ilmenau so ist wie es ist. Eine dieser Personen ist Bernd Frankenberger. Lennart hat ihn getroffen.
